On March 25th, Team Down for the Town finished our 26.2 mile marathon relay feeling strong and we exceeded our fundraising goal.

It was a beautiful day in Oakland. Thanks to our awesome cheer squad, to the folks who came out to support us and all the runners, and to everyone who contributed to our race.

For me, it was amazing to run the last leg of 8 miles from Chinatown where I got my start organizing 25 years ago, to West Oakland where I worked to secure good jobs from the redevelopment of the old Army base, to the finish line in my neighborhood of 20 years by Lake Merritt. See our photo album here. 

In just a few months, our campaign is showing that we have the grassroots power to win in November. So far this year, we've raised an additional $10,000 from individuals like you. Thank you.
