Jahmese Myres is a Planning Commissioner with the City of Oakland.
What does it mean to JAHMESE to be down for the town?
Being “Down for the Town” means you’ll do anything for your City. From celebrating its beauty and super dope culture, to working to ensure that our people are housed and have access to good jobs. It means economic prosperity touches and benefits all Oaklanders- including long time residents, formerly incarcerated folks, our youth, and communities of color. Down for the Town means you love all of Oakland- from deep East to the Port docks- and you’re in it for the long haul; the marathon, not just the sprint.
Here’s how you can support JAHMESE and Team Down for the Town:
- Donate to Nikki’s campaign - Our goal is to raise at least $2,620 for the 26.2 miles we will run together. Can you donate $1, $2, $5 or $10 for each mile we run - $26, $52, $130 or $260?
- Like Nikki‘s Facebook page and invite your friends to like it.
- Volunteer on race day (Sunday, March 25, 7am - 2pm) to cheer us on, take photos and give us water! Then celebrate at a community picnic 1 - 2pm near the playground next to the start line, look for the blue and green balloons.
