The Oakland Chinatown Community is committed to providing a nonpartisan environment for the 2018 candidates to learn about issues that are important to the Chinatown neighborhood and District 2 widely – a critical cultural and historic area. We will NOT be making any endorsements. The Forum will also allow residents and community members of the Oakland Chinatown neighborhood to get to know the candidates and ask questions about their policy priorities.

This forum is an exciting collaboration between numerous organizations and alliances in and around Chinatown and District 2 that promote civic engagement (listed below). We will conduct a moderated forum in accordance with the League of Women Voters of Oakland (LWVO)  ground rules specified on the attached statement. All Candidates for the seat will be invited to participate and address critical issues facing the Asian Pacific Islander and Chinatown Community.
